Yamazaki Single Malt 12 yo

Yamazaki Single Malt 12 yo

Yamazaki Single Malt 12 yo 839 600 Luca Cominelli

Yamazaki Single Malt 12 yo is a Japanese Single Malt. The brand was born in 1984 and today it is one of the most known Japanese whiskys worldwide.

The 12 yo is on of 5 other regular production versions of this whisky: the No Age, the 18 yo, the 25 yo and the Distillery Reserve. It is a whisky that is increasingly less available on the market, because of the high demand that the Japanese whiskys are having during the last couple years. Consequently, the price has sustained a major increase.

Tasting notes YAMAZAKI SINGLE MALT 12 yo

Nose: notes of caramel and cereals are the first perceptible, followed by ripe fruits (pear and peach). Lastly, light notes of spices, among which the white pepper stands out, and oak. Elegant and refined.

Palate: it develops notes of spices (white pepper and chili), accompanied by cocoa and caramel. A light touch of ginger completes the aromatic palette.

Finale: medium long persistency. Spicy (still white pepper) and cocoa.

Overall, an elegant whisky, refined and balanced. A good product, even though in the case of this 12 yo, you won’t find the same depth of the aromatic palette that is perceptible in the other, more aged, products of this brand.
