Rojas Bluebonnets Marevas

Rojas Bluebonnets Marevas

Rojas Bluebonnets Marevas 1600 900 Michel Arlia

Rojas Cigars are named after company owner Noel Rojas, a man who has been behind the scenes for many years. The Rojas Bluebonnet is one of the latest lines introduced and features six sizes, including the Mareva.

Bluebonnet, like most of Rojas lines, are made in his factory Tabacalera Flor de San Luis S.A. in Esteli Nicaragua. All sizes are sold in 20-ct boxes.

The cigars are dressed in a smooth Colorado wrapper. The filling is uniform, and the end of the cigar is finished with a closed foot. The minimal bands make for quite an elegant look.

Rojas Bluebonnet Marevas

Rojas Bluebonnets Marevas: the cold draw brings hay, spices, and vegetal aromas to the palate. Once lit, the cigar opens with black pepper, earth, and leather notes.

Rojas Bluebonnet Marevas

Further into the first third, the smoke is spicy with black pepper leading the profile, followed by earth and leather. There is also a subtle sweetness present. Strength is medium (3/5).

Wood joins the black pepper, earth, and leather profile in the second third. The sweetness is still present in the background, together with hints of citrus. The strength stays constant.

A nutty component and balsamic herbs appear in the last third, broadening the profile even further. The finale becomes spicy, and the strength increases to a medium-full level (4/5).

Overall, the Rojas Bluebonnets Marevas is a flavor bomb with a broad and interesting, and complex profile. There is an evident evolution present, and the strength is well integrated. This blend shows what a small ring gauge size done right can do.
