Woodford Reserve has released their 2020 version in the Master Collection. The 15th release in this series. “Very Fine Rare Bourbon” is the name of the 2020 bottling. The Master’s Collection series was created to honor the many discoveries and innovations that have occurred at the 1812 distillery site where Woodford Reserve is now located.
This Very Fine Rare Bourbon release includes barrels that are 17 years of age and date back to 2003. This year is significant for Master Distiller Chris Morris, as it was the first year he held this position. Morris and Assistant Master Distiller Elizabeth McCall used very rare barrels in this release, hence the name. Moving forward with this series, all future master’s collections will focus on modern innovation by Morris and McCall.
The 2020 Master’s Collection will be available in December 2020. The 750-ml bottle will have an MSRP of $129.99.
