Tomintoul Distillery (owned by the Angus Dundee Distillers) is launching their release called Cigar Malt. If you guessed by the name of this release, it was meant to be paired with cigars. With that pairing in mind, this bottling is also called Tomintoul Cigar Malt Parejo. Master Distiller Robert Fleming created this single malt for his 30th anniversary of being the manager of the distillery. Fleming selected rare vintages of single malt, including rare peated single malt, for the bottling. All of the whiskies selected have either been entirely aged or finished their maturing in Oloroso sherry butts. “I am incredibly proud to release this new expression of Tomintoul, as I personally selected the range of Tomintoul single malts that make up this extremely complex and unique whisky,” said Fleming. “The Tomintoul Cigar Malt has the perfect balance of sweetness and spice, with a rich, smoky background.”
Tomintoul Cigar Malt begins shipping to select retailers in January 2021. The UK, Belgium, Germany, The Netherlands, China, Taiwan, Singapore, and Israel will be the first countries to receive the single malt. The USA and Canada will be receiving an allotment later in 2021. Cigar Malt has an MSRP of £72.99 or a $100 MSRP in the USA. Cigar Malt is bottled at 43% ABV (96 Proof).
