Macallan will introduce to the market a limited stock of whisky aged for 50 years. It is a an extremely rare product: only 200 bottles, sold for a price of about 25,000 £. The distillery is not new to this kind of bottlings: aged in ex-sherry barrels, pride of Macallan, the malt should represent the highest point of the new distillery trend. Also, Macallan will soon expand its production with the increase in the number of stills available.
Macallan 50 Years Old is described as “rich and complex, with sweet notes of vanilla and black currant”.
