San Cristobal de La Habana Prado

San Cristobal de La Habana Prado: the cold draw reveals hints of wood and nuts, enriched by less evident nuances of earth.

San Cristobal de La Habana Prado

The opening is harmonious. It delivers notes of wood, with hints of leather and spices. There is also an ammonia note present, which will remain perceptible throughout the smoke. Strength is medium – light (2/5).

In the second third, the initial sweetness gives way to the sapidity. Flavor-wise, the Prado evolves with notes of leather and wood, followed with nuances of cocoa and walnut. Strength remains unchanged (2/5).

In the last third, it veer towards bitter and sapid components. The flavor profile changes again, with the walnut becoming very pronounced, followed by cocoa and wood, on a light peppery background. Strength increases slightly, becoming medium (3/5).

Ultimately, this Prado has shown itself in all its youth. The ammonia note throughout the smoke reveals a still fresh product that needs time in the humidor. However, the product, overall, is convincing, with an excellent balance between strength and flavors, with an excellent range of aromas. Some rest will even out the flaws.
