Specifically, this whiskey is aged for almost seven years in ex-Bourbon and ex-Scotch barrels, wherein the second case, these are barrels that previously contained peated whisky (cask are from the isle of Islay). The total run consists of 3,900 bottles.

Nose
It releases hints of yellow fruit, where apple stands out, together with citrus notes and a veiled mineral peat. A vegetal nuance is present in the background. After a few moments, a hint of vanilla and bonfire appear. Fresh, elegant, and balanced.
Palate
Peat is more present now and reveals itself as the main flavor, followed by spices, medicinal notes, seasoned wood, and a hint of ripe yellow fruit in the background. Citrus fruits are also confirmed, recalling lemon zest—smoky nuances. Although the ABV is not particularly high, the intensity is nice.
Finish
Medium-long finish, with notes of spice and peat, together with medicinal hints. Slightly smokey.
Overall, the Puni Arte Limited Edition 01 showcases a balanced, broad, and well-structured flavor profile. Particularly round, it is easy to appreciate. Intense and fulfilling. An excellent release by the Italian distillery, which introduces increasingly interesting products to the market.
