TASTING NOTES PORT CHARLOTTE ISLAY BARLEY

Nose: the peat is immediately evident, but it is not intrusive at all. Mildly sweet, it releases vanilla, licorice root and citrus fruit (lemon jam). Black pepper and sulfur complete the aromatic bouquet.

Palate: there are spices (black pepper) and peat, which are not excessive and leave room for other aromas. The gradation is excellent. Great intensity.

Finish: of long persistence. Peat, black pepper and smoky notes, with hints of citrus.

The Port Charlotte Islay Barley is a characteristic product of the island: intense, especially on the palate, and with an interesting story to tell. Port Charlotte has always created excellent products, well made and similar to the distillery. This Islay Barley is excellent.
