In fact, Michter’s has been producing Sour Mash Whiskey since well before. In the 70s and 80s, this bottling was the best-selling one for the distillery.

TASTING NOTES MICHTER’S US*1 SOUR MASH WHISKEY
Nose
At first, intense aromas of wood and raisins, which are soon followed by nuances of grass and vanilla.
Palate
Notes of wood and vanilla are perceptible, enriched with a balsamic touch. Floral notes are also present, supported by spices. Finally, a malt aroma reaches the palate as well.
Finish
Medium – long finish. Notes of balsamic herbs and white pepper are outlined. Malt is still present.
Overall, Michter’s US * 1 Sour Mash Whiskey is a product that has a good balance and flavor intensity. It is not particularly structured, but it is able to release a discreet sense of fulfillment. It is slightly lacking in complexity.
