TASTING NOTES – LAPHROAIG SELECT

Nose

Peaty scents are accompanied by hints of citrus, mainly lemon peel, and medicinal herbs.

Palate

Peat is the main character and it tends to overwhelm the rest of the flavor profile. After a few moment in the glass, a touch of medicinal herbs and a smoky hint are delivered as well.

Finish

Medium-short persistence. Peat plays the main role, but again, it tends to overwhelm the other aromas.

Overall, the Laphroaig Select is a rather unbalanced Scoth whisky, due to the fact the peat tends to cover the rest of the flavor profile. For peat lovers, this can be a very reasonable price bottle of peated Scotch whisky.
