Kininvie is a young distillery, founded in 1990. It is near The Balvenie. Usually it is used for blends but not too much ago, some limited edition releases have been released to the market, featuring a half liter bottle. The Kininvie Batch 002 is a 23 years old product, matured in a mix of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks.

Tasting notes KININVIE 23 BATCH 002
Nose: delicate and floral. On the nose we find wildflower honey, sweet and deep, then spices, including black pepper. Ripe red and yellow fruit (apple and pear). There are also vanilla and caramel, but less intense.Interesting nose.
Palate: spices (black pepper) and a mix of yellow and red fruit: once again apple and pear, but also strawberry and cherry. After a few seconds, honey and vanilla get delivered as well. Pretty balanced. Spice to the final.
Finish: medium persistence. It exhibits notes of spices (black pepper), cocoa and red fruit. A little bit on the dry side.
The Kininvie 23 Batch 002 is a solid whisky. The casks mix chosen gave birth to an elegant and delicate product. It deserve to be enjoyed with attention.
