Jericho Hill OBS

Jericho Hill OBS

Jericho Hill OBS 750 437 Michel Arlia

Jericho Hill is one of the lines by Crowned Heads produced in Nicaragua. They are made in the My Father Cigars Factory.

The line is inspired be the famous musician Johnny Cash. The names of the line and that of the four vitolas originate from the “At Folsom Prison” album. The “.44S” and the “Willy Lee” are mentioned in the song “Cocaine Blues”, while the “LBV” (Long Black Veil) and the “OBS” (Orange Blossom Special) are the names of the sixth and seventh track of said album.

The cigar is elegant but at the same time rustic. The band is simple but very captivating. The wrapper has a maduro color, rough to the touch with pronounced veins. The filling is homogeneous and the cigars presents itself slightly box-pressed.

Jericho Hill OBS: the cold draw present strong scents of cocoa and leather. The draw is slightly open. The beginning brings notes of cocoa, earth and leather to the palate.

The first third releases strong earthy aromas, flanked by cocoa and leather. There are some hints of wood present in certain puffs. There is a white pepper note perceptible in the retro-hale. The strength is instantly at medium to full bodied(4/5).Jerico hill obs_2 copy

The second third doesn’t see any changes in the aromatic palate, but the amplitude the aromatic palate makes it so that cigar isn’t boring at all. The smoke is copious and creamy, the burn and the combustion are realized by book. The aftertaste is distinct and long. The strength stays at a medium full level (4/5).

The last third sees a note of roasted coffee added to the aromatic palate. The strength remains medium full (4/5).

Overall the OBS is a masculine smoke, but balanced at the same time. The aromas are intense and well noticeable. The evolution is limited, but the amplitude of the aromatic palate makes this aspect rather secondary.
