TASTING NOTES – HIGHLAND PARK FIRE

Nose

At first, it develops note of fruits (red apple) and rich flavors of cocoa. Spices follow, that are outlined by black pepper and cinnamon. Hints of cereal and a touch of balsamic notes.

Palate

Very spicy, with a main note of white pepper, as well as slight aromas of saffron. Smoked wood quickly follows. Afterwardyellow fruit and light citrus notes (lime and citron) get developed as well.

Finale

Medium long persistency. It reveals spices (white pepper) and balsamic herbs.

Overall, the Highland Park Fire is a well balanced Scotch whisky, equipped with a good harmony. The aromatic palette isn’t particularly ample, and considering the aging, the expectation were a little higher. That said, it intense and satisfying dram.
