Gran Habano Blue in Green Gran Robusto

Gran Habano Blue in Green Gran Robusto

Gran Habano Blue in Green Gran Robusto 1600 900 Giuseppe Mitolo

The Gran Habano Blue in Green Gran Robusto is a slightly larger Toro. Its opulence is accentuated by a presentation of wood and satins that cover almost all the body of the cigar. In 2019 the cigar placed itself as the third best cigar in the Honduran category (click here to see the Awards of 2019).

GRAN HABANO BLUE IN GREEN GRAN ROBUSTO

Once stripped of its cedar sleeve, we can appreciate a wonderful and bright Connecticut Shade wrapper. It is very smooth to the touch and without any major veins present. The construction, filling and draw are excellent.

Gran Habano Blue in Green Gran Robusto: aromas of damp wood, vegetale and citrus nuances can be perceived in the cold draw.

GRAN HABANO BLUE IN GREEN GRAN ROBUSTO

The opening is dominated by a delicate balance between sweet and sour taste. Flavor-wise, the cigar expresses itself with notes of wood, citrus and white pepper, enriched with spicy nuances. Strength is medium (3/5).

In the second third, the initial sweetness disappears, replaced by an equally delicate sapidity. The flavors settle on spices, wood and coffee. Strength remains unchanged (3/5).

In the final third, the acidity, that had accompanied the whole smoke, disappears, leaving only the sapidity. The flavors evolve and turn to notes of leather and wood, while the coffee note fades out. Strength remains medium (3/5).

Overall, this Gran Habano Blue in Green Gran Robusto proves to be a convincing cigar, especially for the combination of the Connecticut wrapper with the Nicaraguan filling. The strength is always proportionate to the flavor profile. Excellent balance between sweetness, sapidity and acidity, which alternate throughout the smoke. Finally, the flavor intensity, added to an intriguing first third, make this product a particularity in its reference segment.
