Foundation Charter Oak Pasquale Pegnataro

Foundation Cigar Company unveils its latest creations, Charter Oak Pegnataro-CT Shade and Pasquale-CT Broadleaf cigars. These blends serve as a heartfelt tribute to the lasting influence and cherished memories of Nicholas Melillo’s grandfathers, whose passion for tobacco kindled his own. The Charter Oak Pegnataro and Pasquale, crafted by Nicholas Melillo, pay homage to the unwavering spirit and timeless wisdom passed down by his grandfathers. They also serve to pay tribute to the opening of Foundation’s new office on a 300-acre farm in the heart of the Connecticut River Valley tobacco growing region. “My love for handmade cigars exists only because of my grandfathers. One was an avid CT Broadleaf smoker, and the other loved CT shade. These blends are completely different than the core line of Charter Oak. They are richer and more complex,” says Melillo.

Charter Oak CT Broadleaf Pasquale is a cigar that revolves around the renowned Connecticut Broadleaf seed, resulting in a Maduro wrapper with a dark, rich complexion. In contrast, Charter Oak CT Shade Pegnataro features a golden-brown Connecticut Shade wrapper, exuding elegance and refinement. Both use Nicaraguan binder and filler, but not the same tobaccos and both come in the same 48 x 140 mm (5 1/2″) Corona size. “The Charter Oak core line would have been their everyday cigar, and these new blends would be for the weekend or a special occasion,” shared Nicholas Melillo. “These blends are deeply personal to me, as they honor the legacies of my grandfathers. The CT Broadleaf and CT Shade wrappers represent their distinct personalities, allowing me to celebrate their individuality through exceptional cigars that bear their names.” The “Charter Oak Pegnataro and Pasquale” cigars will be available at select retailers nationwide starting in early Fall 2023. They will retail at $13.00 per cigar and $156 per 12-count box. This is a limited quarterly release of 500 boxes.
