Edition One Cloud Hopper No. 485

Edition One Cloud Hopper No. 485

Edition One Cloud Hopper No. 485 1600 900 Michel Arlia

Edition One debuted in 2017 and is a collaboration of Kyle Gellis, of Warped Cigars, and his brother Devin. The Cloud Hopper is their only line so far and the two sizes, No. 485 and 53, are both Nicaraguan Puros made only of AGANORSA tobacco. They are sold in 50-count cabinets, something that you don’t see much anymore.

The cigar is wrapped in a Colorado shaded wrapper leaf, that is quite oily and smooth to the touch. There are minimal veins present and the filling is uniform

Cloud Hopper 485

Edition One Cloud Hopper No. 485: wood and a light spiciness are peresent in the cold draw. Once lit, the cigar opens with wood and leather.

Cloud Hopper 485

The first third continues on with wood and leather as the primary flavors, now joined by cocoa. There are also notes of coffee present. Strength is on the lighter side, at medium-light (2/5).

In the second third, wood, leather and cocoa are still the core flavors. Coffee is still lingering in the background joined by a floral note. There is now also a black pepper aroma present in the retro-hale. Strength has increased to a medium body (3/5).

Compared to the second third, there is not much changing flavor wise in the final third, except for the black pepper that has gained slightly in intensity. Strength remains medium bodied.

Overall, the Edition One Cloud Hopper No. 485 is a very smooth and balanced smoke that can be enjoyed at any time of the day. For those familiar with Kyle Gellis’s work will be positively surprised, since it is not quite the flavor profile that you are used to.
