The Don Pepin Garcia Original Lancero was one of the first cigars to represent the launch of the line, which took place over ten years ago. Currently, the Original line (also known as “Blue Label” due to the blue satin ribbon that wraps around the foot of the cigars) has ten formats, from the small demi-tasse to the exclusive Corona Larga.
It is a Nicaraguan Puro with a dark Corojo-seed wrapper, sold in elegant 24-count boxes.
It is dressed in a slightly opaque wrapper of a Colorado shade with brown, sometimes reddish reflections. It is somewhat wrinkled with prominent veins, and the filling and construction are perfect.

The smoke is sapid with a slightly sweet component in the opening. The profile is dominated by an intense note of black pepper, leaving room for earthy and woody characters. Strength is medium (3/5).
In the central section, the sweetness disappears, and the cigar remains sapid. The evolution brings a rich note of wood, which is more structured than the previous third, black pepper, and nuances of earth and nuts. Strength undergoes a sharp rise, becoming full (5/5).
In the final third, a vibrant note of bitter almond explodes, leaving room for a rich background of nuts, black pepper, and wood. Nothing changes in terms of strength (5/5).
Overall, this Don Pepin Garcia Original Lancero continues to be a certainty and a point of reference for the Lanceros sizes, which are less and less produced. The smoke it returns is satisfying, elegant, rich, and multifaceted. Only the sudden increase in strength causes it to lose a few points in balance.
