The Diplomatico El Diputado is a regional edition made for Belux. It is one of the three regional releases that was announced in 2018. That said, cigars reached the maket only in mid 2019 and they are still available in many shops.
Total production for this release was 10.000 boxes of 10 cigars.
Cigars are dressed up in a colorado shade wrapper, silky to the touch. Filling is generous.
As it happens with all the Cuban regional editions, cigar are packed with 2 bands, one being the classic one of the brand, and the second one with a written showing which country the cigar has been made for.

Diplomatico El Diputado: before lighting the cigar up, scents of cedar wood and sweet tobacco are released. The opening brings to the palate roasted coffee beans flavors.
The first part of the smoke delivers aromas of coffee, followed by rich nutty notes, that soon become the main flavor. There is also a touch of earth in the background. Later on, spices get developed as well. Strength is medium (3/5).
The flavor profile get now enriched by citrus notes and it develops even more with balsamic herbs. The earthy flavor in the backgorund has a long persistence. Strength doesn’t change (3/5).
In the final section earthy and floral notes alternates each others till the end. Balsamic herbs are now perceivable in the aftertaste, together with the spices, the latter more on a milder side compared to the previous third. Strength stays unchanged (3/5).
Overall, the Diplomatico El Diputado develops a satisfying smoke, equipped with a fairly broad aromatic profile. Evolution is perceptible and the cigar is harmoious and well balanced. One of the best Regional release labeled Diplomatico.
