The Depaz Vsop Réserve Spéciale is a rum produced in Martinique, in the Lesser Antilles. The distillery is located at the foot of the Pelée volcano, right in front of the Caribbean sea. It was completely destroyed during the eruption on May 8, 1902. It was later rebuilt with by Victor Depaz. This rum is aged for at least 6 years.

TASTING NOTES – DEPAZ VSOP RÉSERVE SPÉCIALE
Nose
Intense scents of red fruit, among which black cherry and cherry stand out. There is also a gentle aroma of wood spices in the background. Then it is the turn of hints of caramel and almond. To complete the bouquet, dark chocolate.
Palate
Burnt caramel and red fruit, where black cherry and plum are the protagonists, followed by dark chocolate and wood spices.
Finish
Short persistence. Fruity hints on a bitterish base. A hint of rhubarb.
Overall, The Depaz Vsop Réserve Spéciale is a rum with a broad aromatic palette, but which is not very incisive to the palate, due to its rather contained aromatic intensity and persistence. Easy to apprecciate.
