Cohiba Robusto

Cohiba Robusto

Cohiba Robusto 1600 900 Luca Cominelli

The Cohiba Robusto can be considered the king of the Cuban Robustos. This is due to the value this cigar has in the Cuban core range and the fact that it is the most popular size of the most prestigious brand of Habanos.

It is available in both cardboard packs and tubos and SLBs, which contain 25 cigars and are the best if you want to buy it for aging purposes.

Cohiba Robusto

The cigars come dressed in a Colorado wrapper, silky to the touch, and usually, the construction is well made.

Cohiba Robusto 2

Cohiba Robusto: the cold draw reveals hints of cedarwood. The opening confirms the notes of cedarwood, flanked by an acidulous touch.

Cohiba Robusto 3

The first third continues on cedarwood. The background is about a rather marked acidulous vein. After a few puffs, a mix of earth and cocoa appears. Strength is slightly above medium (3.5/5).

The smoke turns to fruity notes in the central section, with a spicy background of white pepper. Strength is medium-full (4/5).

The last third sees the fruity notes remaining present, but they are accompanied by a much more intense aroma of walnut, together with hints of cocoa. The white pepper remains present in the background, and in some puffs it culminates in hot spices. Strength remains constant (4/5).
The finish is a blast of hot spices, flanked by walnut and earth. The strength grows (4.5/5) resulting in a satisfying finale.

Overall, the Cohiba Robusto is a Cohiba-style smoke, with a flavor profile tending towards sweetness and creaminess. Compared to the Cohiba Robustos of a few years ago, the flavor intensity is less pronounced, but it is still a satisfying smoke.
