Camacho Liberty Series 2012 Throwback

Camacho Liberty Series 2012 Throwback: once cut, the cold draw reveals notes of ripe fruits and cedar wood. The first few puffs are a blast of cedar, paired with some pepper.

Camacho Liberty Series 2012 Throwback

Getting further into the first third, the profile is all over the place and not well balanced between the flavors that can be made out. Cedar, earth and cereal notes can be made out, which are all fighting each other for dominance. There are sublte notes of cocoa and spices in the back. Strength fluctuats as well, as some puffs are lighter and some overpower the flavor profile.

There are some burn issues present and the cigar needs to be touched up a couple of time. Halfway through the second third the profile becomes more balanced. Cedar wood is the main flavor, paired with cinnamon. Pepper, cocoa and molasses are present in the background. Strength has settled to a medium level (3/5).

The final third continues with the same flavor profile from before. There is a sweeter undertone perceptible through the retrohale. Strength increases to medium – full (4/5).

Overall, the Camacho Liberty Series 2012 Throwback would be a great cigar if it weren’t for the first third, that, flavor and strength wise, is all over the place. Nevertheless, the second and last third show the potential of the cigar. With some rest in the humidor, to even out the first third, this cigar has definitely room to improve.
