TASTING NOTES BALVENIE 2002 PEAT WEEK
Nose: a very particular Balvenie. The peat is here, but it’s very subtle. Notes of honey, brown sugar, cinnamom, pepper and saffron. Incense, soot and boiled eggs in the background.
Palate: it takes a long time to fully shine. There’s a light peat note. Again we have honey and spices: black pepper and cardamom, a subtle minerality, milk chocolate. Oily and persistent.
Finish: long, medium strenght. Again notes of honey and pepper, chocolate and red fruits.
A distintictive Balvenie with a shy but perceptible peatiness. Very good.
