TASTING NOTES Balvenie 12 Doublewood
Nose: it is light and fresh. it delevers hints of cereal biscuits with a little bit of wood. It is then the turn of wild berries and honey. The spiciness is light and elegant and is outlined by white pepper. Marzipan hints are also perceptible.
Palate: the intensity is limited. Yellow and red fruits (a mix of strawberry, apple and pear) come to the palate. Then the white pepper returns. It also develops sugar cane and vanilla.
Finish: medium persistence. Hints of light wood, brown sugar and candied orange are perceivable.
The classic elegance of Balvenie is recognizable, accompanied by a good aromatic palette, close to the distillery one. The intensity is particularly contained, especially to the palate. An undemanding malt.
