Arturo Fuente Oro Magnum R Super Sixty

Arturo Fuente Oro Magnum R Super Sixty

Arturo Fuente Oro Magnum R Super Sixty 1600 900 Michel Arlia

Arturo Fuente revealed the Oro Magnum R Super Sixty back in 2018. Aside from the large gold foil, there are a few differences compared to the regular Magnum R line. The most significant being the wrapper, which instead of an Ecuadorian Sun Grown, is an Ecuadorian Connecticut. The Super Sixty is also a limited production item.

Once the gold foil is removed, it reveals a Colorado-shaded wrapper with a decent amount of sheen to it. It is smooth to the touch. Construction is generous and uniform.

Arturo Fuente Oro Magnum R Super Sixty

Arturo Fuente Oro Magnum R Super Sixty: gras and herbs are perceived in the cold draw. Once lit, it opens with notes of wood and nuts, mainly hazelnut.

Arturo Fuente Oro Magnum R Super Sixty

The first third has the hazelnut and wood firmly set as the main flavors, with some roasted coffee and herbal notes here and there. There is a slight bitter component lingering in the background paired with some cinnamon spice through the retrohale. Strength is not quite medium-bodied (2.5/5).

The light bitterness has disappeared, and the smoke has become creamier in the second third. Hazelnut and wood remain the main flavors but aren’t as marked as before, followed by herbal notes. The cinnamon spice is still only present in the retrohale. Strength is now medium (3/5).

In the last third, the herbal note has turned into balsamic herbs and has moved to the front, next to the wood and hazelnut. The cinnamon remains present in the retrohale. Strength remains unchanged.

Overall, the Arturo Fuente Oro Magnum R Super Sixty is a balanced and round smoke. The flavors are well outlined from start to finish, but they are only a few in numbers for the generous size. A smoke that can definitely be suggested to those new to cigars, but it might be too one-dimensional for the seasoned smoker.
