TASTING NOTES ARDBEG 1998 RENAISSANCE

Nose: intense peat notes, then custard, vanilla and a rich vein of citrus (lime, lemon and bergamot). The smokiness is significant and even nuances of diesel oil and yellow fruits (banana and pineapple) are perceptible. Charcoal and licorice are outlined after several minutes.

Palate: it is quite monothematic, with intense peated aromas, spices (black pepper) and a evident saltiness. Shades of vanilla and sweet citrus notes.

Finale: of medium persistence, but of high intensity. It emanates a salty notes, joined by hints of licorice and vanilla.

Palate and finale are less performing than this Ardbeg gives off on the nose.
