TASTING NOTES – ANCNOC RASCAN

Nose

The first impact is all about peat. Following, the flavor profile is enriched with notes of vanilla and honey, together with refreshing notes of citrus, mainly citron and orange peel.

Palate

At first impact it is peaty and spicy (white pepper), with a hint of vanilla. It is then the time of suave notes of red fruit and citron. There are also some roasted coffee notes.

Finish

Medium persistency. Peaty and spicy, it presents also a faint licorice component.

Overall, the AnCnoc Rascan is a nice peated Scotch whisky, but not in an excessive nor dominant way. It is a well balanced and satisfying whisky to sip at.
