Alec & Bradley Kintsugi Robusto

Alec & Bradley Kintsugi Robusto

Alec & Bradley Kintsugi Robusto 1600 900 Luca Cominelli

The Alec & Bradley Kintsugi Robusto is one of the 4 sizes belonging to this line (Corona Gorda, Toro, and Gordo).  These cigars are created by second-generation cigar makers Alec and Bradley Rubin. Alec & Bradley Kintsugi pays homage to the ancient Japanese art form of joining together ceramics with gold lacquer-making them even more beautiful. Cigars are made in Honduras, and they are sold in 24 count boxes.

The cigars are dressed up in a Colorado leaf, which is smooth to the touch. The cigars are slightly box-pressed in an almost imperceptible way. Two are the bands used: a big one worth the brand name and a second one with the “Alec & Bradley” logo. The two brands are pretty uncommon, and the big one is cut in the way it can fit perfectly a triangle draw in the smaller band (which is below the former).

Alec & Bradley Kintsugi Robusto: the cold draw reveals a lot of spices, where the black pepper stands out. The opening is earthy and nutty.

The first third delivers aromas of earth and nuts, together with an intense spicy component, where the black pepper is the protagonist. Getting closer to the second part of the smoke, the flavor profile is enriched with leather and camphor. The strength is medium to full (4/5).

In the middle third, the cigar continues on the same flavor profile, with the leather being a little richer, while the spices are now more on the mild side. The strength doesn’t change (4/5).

In the final third, the cigar develops notes of earth, undergrowth, and seasoned wood. The spices are now back as in the first part of the smoke, being intense and with the black pepper accompanying every single puff. The finale is satisfying. The strength doesn’t change (4/5).

Overall, the Alec & Bradley Kintsugi Robusto develops a well-balanced and rich smoke. The flavor profile is wide, and the cigar is satisfying and boasts a very nice structure.
