Bunnahabhain 25 years old

Bunnahabhain 25 years old

Bunnahabhain 25 years old 800 450 Kaarel Kluge

Bunnahabhain is a distillery located on Islay, Scotland. The distillery stands in front of the sea and the warehouses overlook directly a small gulf, giving a unique show. A peculiarity that distinguishes the distillery is the low use of peat malt, often used for limited editions or for particularly young products. Most of the core products are not peated.

This product, as has happened to other Bunnahghain products, has recently undergone an aesthetic restyling (bottle and box).

TASTING NOTES BUNNAHABHAIN 25 YEARS OLD

Nose: wood is the main flavor and sometimes tends to overshadow the rest of the flavor profile. However, the sherry notes are pronounced and are joined by wax, red fruit and a lure of sulfur, very similar to that of lit matches.

Palate: good first impact. a pronounced sherry is supported by sulfur, dark chocolate and honey. Orange jam is outlined in the background, along with a hint of sea salt.

Finish: medium long. Sweet, with oak tannins.

The Bunnahabhain 25 year old is a good product, which releases a strong sherry aroma. That said, the 18 years old performs better and, considering the price of this one, we’d opt for three bottles of 18yo, for practically the same price.
