Today a blended whisky, that aged for 35 years. The independent bottler That Boutique-y Whiskey Company is part of the company that owns Master of Malt, a well-known online shop for spirits. For some years now they have been launching both bottles of known distilleries and blended whiskies , uniting different distilleries that remain unknown. In this case, 1428 bottles were obtained from some casks of unknown origin. They have underlined the presence of grain whisky, together with other malt whiskies. There is no additional information, neither concerning the ABV (cask strength or with added water) nor regarding the age of all the casks involved.

TASTING NOTES BLENDED WHISKY NO. 1 – 35 YEARS – BATCH 3 (THAT BOUTIQUE-Y WHISKEY COMPANY)
Nose: despite the age it is fresh and lively. Peppery and spicy notes of ginger and black pepper, turn to milk chocolate and red fruits, cherry, sour cherry and strawberry. Bitter orange jam, vanilla and chocolate biscuits. Cocoa remains the most evident note, but without overpowering the other flavors. Good complexity.
Palate: extremely round, with great oiliness. The spices are increase slightly, still black pepper and paprika. Notes of cocoa and orange and strawberry jam follow. Well balanced sweetness, as well as the intensity that gradually grows. The oiliness is nothing short of unique.
Finish: long. Medium-high in complexity, with cocoa, dark chocolate, vanilla, black pepper and red fruit.
Despite the lack of information on the origin, the purpose of products like this is to have a chance to sample products with unique characteristics and aging. This Blended Whisky has achieved the goal, namely to provide a good quality at a not particularly high price. The palate alone, is worth the price. Unique!
